Your First Time at FLTH

Nobody arrives at a fetish night knowing how it works. Every man on the floor had a first time, and most of them were nervous. This page is the whole thing explained plainly, so you can walk in knowing what you are walking into.

What FLTH actually is

FLTH is a men-only fetish night in Cape Town, South Africa. There is a DJ and a dance floor, and there are play zones. Some men come to dance in gear all night and never play. Some men come to play. Both are the point. Nothing is expected of you.

What to wear

The dress code is strict and it is enforced at the door: no gear, no entry. Leather, rubber, skin, pups, shiny, scally, neoprene, boots, jocks, hoods, or nothing at all. Naked counts as gear.

This is not a costume party. It is not fancy dress. The gear is the atmosphere, and every man on the floor is holding it up for everyone else. Nazi military and gore are not welcome, ever.

If you are starting from nothing, a jockstrap and boots will get you in the door and is what a great many men wear. A harness over bare skin is the other easy start. You do not need a full rubber suit and nobody expects one. If you are unsure, email us at info@flth.co.za before the night and we will tell you straight whether what you have works.

The armbands

Every man gets a band at the door, and it is the simplest consent system there is.

• Yellow, Yes Sir. Open to play. Open does not mean automatic. You still ask, every time.
• Red, No Sir. Not playing tonight. Talking is fine. Touching is not.

You can swap your band at the door at any point in the night, with no questions and no explanation owed to anyone. Plenty of men arrive red and switch later. Plenty arrive yellow and switch back.

RED is also the safe word. Whatever band a man is wearing, if he says RED, everything stops immediately. Not slows down. Stops.

The Daddies

The Daddies are our team, in red glowing bands so you can spot them from across a dark room. They are there to keep men safe and to enforce respect. If someone will not take no, if a phone camera comes out, if you feel wrong about something, or if you just want to ask a question, find a Daddy. What Daddy says, goes.

Phones and cameras

Phones are allowed. All cameras are sealed at the door. No photos and no filming inside, of anyone, ever, with no exceptions. This is what lets men be open on the floor, and it is the rule we protect hardest. If you see a lens out, tell a Daddy.

Drugs

No drugs. Aggressive or intoxicated means no entry, and it means being removed. This is not moralising, it is the thing that makes consent possible.

Practical things

• Age: strictly 18 and over. Bring valid photo ID. There are no exceptions to this, including for men who are obviously older.
• Tickets: cheapest online in advance. Also sold at the door at a higher price, card only, no cash.
• Coat check: free with your ticket. Use it. Most men arrive in something over their gear and change there.
• Getting there: come by taxi or e-hailing. See the venue and the date on our events page.

Ask first. Take no for an answer without sulking about it. Say RED the moment you want to stop, and respect it instantly when you hear it. Wear something. Leave your camera alone. That is the whole code, and men who follow it have a very good night.
